I have a big fat crush on a (different from the last time) okcupid guy. This guy... grew up on a grain farm in Illi. How fucking cute is that? We've emailed back and forth a few times now. He didn't reply to my last email of... I dunno, three days ago? Whatevs, wasn't sweating it. And last night sent this email saying that he does mean to really reply to the email but he got held up helping his dad at the farm (!) (he's visiting for the week) till really late 'cause the weather looked bad - and that he was coming back into town today or tomorrow and would write for real then. Too cute. I dunno, he is just nice and normal, it seems. But if he meets me he won't like me, hahahaha. Ha. For real. Anyway I think I'd like to meet but will let him bring it up. I haven't met a boy from online since well before Nate, back when I was younger and slightly stupider. But it is nice to have someone with a penis be nice to me. After my disastrous episodes with Nate, Dobie, and then Kris, I'm ready for some male niceness and I think I deserve it. Even if it is just online.

I honest to honest honest god love Ace of Cakes. I'm going to marry all the boys and girls on the show. And then the cakes, of course.

I had more to say but magically forgot it. Must be getting old. Am getting old.

There were ten thousand people in and out of the barn today, it made doing stalls quite annoying. A couple people were asking about lessons and I refer them to Chris normally but he's not here, so I had to show them around and give them as much info as I could. Then a girl who has lessons normally on Thursday showed up for her lesson with her dad, since they assumed the lesson was still on, but it was not, since, y'know, trainer = in another state. Then Smokey's new lease-mom (I hesitate to call her that since she's like 18 or something, maybe younger) came and needed help with the new polos she bought... I'm not hot at those anymore, when I worked at the GPHC I was hot shit at them 'cause we wrapped every pony/horse for every lesson basically, but here we usually use splint boots or SMBs or somesuch. But I ended up doing okay :) Not beautiful but not ugly. And definitely effectively supportive! I also fixed the piss trench in Smokey's stall (there is a gap between the mats, RIGHT where the beast pisses, and so it always collects there with shavings and is a bitch and a half to clean out every day.) I struggled with the ute knife and mat scraps till I got three pieces to fit it exactly. There is still a small gap of about 3-4 inches at the very end that isn't covered, but he pours out mostly in the middle, and that part is golden. I was so proud of myself, I made Emigh (Smokey's current/soon-to-be-former lease-mom) and Ann (new lease-mom) look... they were not as enthralled as I was. Huh. Shavings got dropped off today, hooray. Never realized how freaking much we spend on those bags. Eeep.

I have the driest hands in the history of the planet. I need a spa day. I need a day off!
I want presents, too. Bah. Needy today. Sorry. :(

Am cold, so I put on my hoodie. The next appropriate course of action is to get ice cream, correct? Correct.

Ace of Cakes is the greatest show ever. It's also the one food show that doesn't make me obscenely hungry, which is good! The cakes are too pretty to eat! :D

I know, I could never ever dare touch one of their cakes. My first reaction would be like, omg, all those fucking cool people made this cake. And then I would say, okay, it's just to look at! A work of art, really.

I think I gain lbs just from watching Food Network tho :\

If it were feaseable, i would totally order a cake from them and drive the 2000 miles one way to pick it up and oogle it.

There needs to be more amazing cake places like that!

Food Network is the death of me. By far the worst is Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. OMG I gain a pound a minute when that show is on.

Yeah every time I catch that I feel the need for a roadtrip...

I don't have cable (do at the barn tho) so it's rare when I get to see all these fun shows. But damn I do love them.

Now if only I could catch Anthony Bourdain on TV...

haha, I went to one of the "Dives" they featured in Minnesota. OMG it was the most amazing place ever. I want to go back so badly, and I wish I had known about it when I was still living there!

I watch WAY too much tv. It's always on it seems, because I apparently need background noise ALL THE TIME.

ahhhhhh I want I want! One time they did one that was in the Michiana area or thereabouts and I was in Ohio at the time thinking... could I get there and back before the family notices I'm gone? (the answer was no.... sad)

I "watch" a lot of TV but also just have it on for background noise. I'm stuck to the local channels though :(

It's a good thing Duff's cakes are pretty. They taste like crap, from what I've heard. One of my coworkers knows him, and he charges out the wazoo for his cakes, but uses premade batter, among other things. He also won't do a cake for less than $500.

I'm not surprised they use premade batter, with 30+ cakes a week, some of which are huge!

I think it would just be fun thing to try once. They may not taste good, but the look fabulous! :D Luckily for me I live far far away from there, so I won't have to worry about dropping $500 on a cake.

I live right outside Baltimore, but luckily I don't feel the need to try to order one of those. I know they're booked through November. They were on the local radio station a few weeks ago.

If he can make a good living doing that, more power to him. I just prefer a cake I can actually eat.

Tbh, I'm not a fan of the taste of fondant (which they use a lot of) but I love the looks they can create with it. So in all honesty if I ever did get one it would be for the express purpose of looking at, and only that :D

oooh that is kind of poopy. I'm sorry she was a pigster.

Well, I'm chunky for one thing! But I figure if he's from the farm... he might appreciate womens with a little meat on their bones... I mean plus I can chuck around hay bales like there's no tomorrow. And I've got that bicep muscle in my arm now where I don't even have to be actively flexing to 'make a muscle.'

mostly its the fat thing I'm worried about :(

Well, a farm boy will appreciate a woman who can carry a couple pigs under her arms and toss around hay bales. Pretty useless on a farm otherwise!

You have a super personality, I mean, I started reading your journal just because I saw you commenting on someone elses! And super cute too. To be perfectly honest, most guys really aren't that hung up on weight. It's a girl thing from reading all those girlie magazines. Guys don't read them, so we don't worry about it as much.

I'm chunky, too... even though I've lost 31 lbs. And when I met up with homeboy today, he was all about my love handles... to the point where I had to tell him to stop grabbing them!

I have questions!

How did you guys meet on the site (it was equestriansingles right?) Like, did one of you randomly search and find the other and message from there or was there mutual looking-at-profiles beforehand or what? How often did you msg back and forth before deciding to meet? Did he suggest it or did you? Sorry for all the questions and I'm sure they're in your journal from when it happened, so I could look! Duh, me.

I'm just nervous. He probably doesn't even want to meet, haha!

and just wanted to throw in some more yays for you and gil :D

it wasequestriancupid.com

it was funny, cuz neither of us had ever met anyone off the internet before, and he was actually going on there to delete his profile, but he did one last search and saw my profile. so he sent one of those free "icebreakers" things that asked if i would be interested in corresponding if he laid out the money for a premium acct. i looked at his profile, thought what the heck, and said yes. so we emailed back and forth for less than a week before we started talking on the phone, talked every day for another maybe week and a half, and then he came out to ride. i suggested it, bc i really did need help with all the horses i need to ride (you'd be surprised how hard it is to find people to ride for free!). so he came out and rode and we went out to dinner after a few times and then the next thing i knew we were in a relationship. :) he says the minute he saw me he knew i was "the one." i'm not quite so romantic, but eh. :P

the way i see it, if you're putting your profile out there, you're looking for someone, right? and what's the point of going to all the trouble to talk to someone unless you plan to meet up someday? that's my take on it, anyway. :) anymore it seems like the only way to meet someone is online! i used to be soooo against it and only maybe a yr ago put up profiles on the horsey singles sites. worht a shot, right? i hope it works out for you guys!
