Molly
Molly is dying. We are taking her to see Dr. Smaller tomorrow. Right now she is taking a nap beside me in my mom's bed. She can't walk without falling over. She is only half-heartedly eating cheese.

I am broken.

Awwww *hugs* Who is Molly? I lost my cat a few years ago (I was across the country) and it was one of the hardest things ever. :(

Molly is my 14yr old corgi x who lives with my mom (when I moved in with my then-bf Nate he didn't want to have a dog so Mom kept her for me). She was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery to remove it in 2005, and she was in remission until it came back October 2007. She is 14 so we decided against further invasive surgery (our vet told us that they would probably have to remove a great portion of her nasal cavity) and just keep her comfortable. She has been pretty on/off since then (mostly on, to tell the truth, she is a tough little bugger) but lately she has been having bed accidents. Not *that* big a deal in and of itself, but today she had a bed accident and couldn't move her back legs. I've been petting and holding her for about an hour now, she hasn't gotten up. I just want to make her comfortable through the night. (Cheese is her very favourite food ever, btw)

Molly is my best-favourite dog ever. She was my very first "my own" dog.

Yes she was always a superhappy puppy, except when she doesn't feel good :( like now.

This is true... I hope I am doing her some good. She was rather frantic when I got here (she fell and got stuck between mom's bed and her nightstand) and was very shaky, now she is very restful. I've been giving her water and little pieces of cheese and chicken but mostly she is sleepy.

It is super hard. Hardest part of owning a pet is having to make the choice to euthanize, I think. She is gobbling the cheese down rather voraciously so I keep thinking maybe she will be okay? But I know it's probably not going to go that way.
